We’re Riding

for Everett!

Join us as we ride for Everett!

Everett is a happy, silly, and outgoing little 3-year-old boy who was just diagnosed with Leukemia in late March. We are activating our community to raise funds and support the Johnson Family as they come together in this difficult time.

For over 20 years, The Discovery Learning Center has been holding an annual Trike-a-Thon to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This year we have decided to use this event to raise funds for Everett, who has been a DLC student for the past year (following his older sisters who are DLC alum).

About Everett

Everett is the “E” in the ABCDE family (Audrey, Brent, Cali, Debra, Everett) and he turns 3 on April 4th! Everett is a happy, silly and outgoing little boy. He loves to play soccer, basketball and is in fact a Sacramento Kings enthusiast!

He’s had a rocket of a throwing arm since he was a baby and I know will be an athlete for years to come! Everett loves being at school, playing and screaming with abandon with all his friends. Everett is also adored by Cali and Audrey, his older sisters who are DLC alum!

It will take a giant pool of resources to properly care for Everett as he battles Leukemia. He started chemo the day after he was diagnosed, and it has been a whirlwind of stress for his family.

As you can imagine, having a three-year-old in the hospital requires one fully present parent, 24/7. Everett’s family needs all the help they can get so they can focus their mental and emotional energy on healing their boy and walking their family through this difficult and transformative time.

What We Will Do

During bike and trike week (April 14th-April 18th), DLC teachers will be educating our students on how to ride their bike and trikes safely. We will also bring awareness to why we are doing this. Everett is very sick and needs our help. We will use our healthy bodies to ride and raise money so Everett can get the medicine he needs to get better!
